To help Minnesota waterfowl hunters find the best places to hunt this season, the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources reminds hunters they can get weekly updates on waterfowl numbers and wetland conditions delivered to their online mailbox. Numbers in what s called the Waterfowl Migration Report are updated every Thursday from state and federal wildlife manager reports and waterfowl surveys from across Minnesota, according to Nate Huck, the DNR s migratory game bird consultant. The report can be accessed under the DNR s waterfowl page. However, Huck said the best way to access the updated reports is to sign up online. That way, once the page is updated, an email will be sent to subscribers and they can click on the area that interests them most. It s a good reminder that keeps hunting fresh in the minds of waterfowl enthusiasts. The report lists information from each county and a map of migrating bird areas across the state.
