Seminole County offers free car seat installation and inspection Thursday

Families can receive free car seat installations and safety inspections Thursday at Seminole County Fire Station 27.The Seminole County Fire Department is partnering with Children’s Safety Village and Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children for the event.The inspections will be offered from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. at the station, located at 5280 Red Bug Lake Road in Winter Springs.Nationally certified child passenger safety technicians will install car seats and check existing installations. Each appointment is expected to take between 30 and 45 minutes.The event will also serve as hands-on training for 10 people completing a weeklong course to become certified car seat technicians.Fire officials said residents should not assume they can visit any fire station without an appointment to have a car seat checked or installed.
