Venice Airport to hold public workshop on master plan

SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) - Venice Municipal Airport will hold a public workshop this week on its Master Plan, giving residents an opportunity to review the proposal and offer feedback before it goes to the Federal Aviation Administration and Venice City Council for adoption.The open-house workshop is scheduled from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 28, at the Venice Community Center, 326 Nokomis Ave. S.Attendees can review existing airport conditions, future land use, community buffers, projected operations and FAA compliance, according to the city.Runway safety system absent in Miami plane crash already in place in VeniceThe workshop is one of several opportunities for the public to learn about the plan and share comments.The City of Venice will also host a meet and greet Friday to introduce Sue Beaudet, the new Community Outreach Manager for Venice Airport.The event is scheduled from 1 to 3 p.m. in Community Hall at Venice City Hall, 401 W.
